Indivisible Nation BK (INBK) is a not for profit organization in Brooklyn dedicated to promoting civic participation and engagement in the fight for justice, sustainability, and equality. We use the Indivisible Guide's five strategies—calls/letter campaigns, town halls, meetings, public events, and elections—to push our local, state, and federal representatives to resist authoritarianism, corruption, and intolerance; protect democracy; and stand up for our communities.
Five Day Call Challenge
FIVE DAYS, 15 CALLS, 25 MINUTES: All you need to help FIRE UP ALBANY FOR CHANGE!
The legislative session in Albany starts this WEDNESDAY. We’re challenging all our members to call their state representatives and Governor Cuomo EVERY DAY this week to share our priorities. State senators and assemblymembers typically get very few constituent calls, so even one call on one issue can make a HUGE impact.
All you need is five minutes a day for the next five days and we can get our state representatives fired up for change! Are you in? Scripts for every day of the week HERE!
INBK is now an official 501(c)(4) not for profit organization!
There are two ways you can support our work right now:
1. Become an “Endorsing Member” of INBK: To become an Endorsing Member of INBK, you’ll need to contribute $15/ year (or more) to support our funding needs and have attended at least 3 meetings or tabling sessions in the last 6 months. If you meet these criteria, you will be able to vote on INBK endorsements in certain local races. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
2. Make a donation just because! Not able to come to meetings regularly but want to support what we do? Or are you able to help kickstart our fundraising efforts? Consider making a donation to keep us going. You can donate at any time, but we’d love if you helped us get started with a gift today to help us maximize our impact in 2019.
Donate securely via ActBlue:
Because 501(c)(4)s can engage in some political activity (as we certainly do), any contributions to our organization are not deductible as charitable contributions.
Inspire people to call Senators Schumer and Gillibrand everywhere you go -- and support INBK while you do it! Visit our new online store and get totes, tees, phone cases, even beach towels delivered directly to you! They make great gifts, too.
Jan 3rd day of action
INBK and a coalition of NYC Indivisible groups kicked off 2019 with simultaneous meetings at the district offices of Reps Nydia Velazquez, Hakeem Jeffries and Yvette Clarke (with other meetings and actions with Reps. Jerry Nadler, Max Rose, Carolyn Maloney and Adriano Espaillat!) followed by a rally outside Senator Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand's offices (with appearances from their staff) telling them all to #BeBold! Photos from the rally were heavily featured on Rachel Maddow.
Amazing team of Indivisibles from all over NYC (Indivisible Brooklyn, Empire State Indivisible, Indivisible Harlem, Indivisible Upper East Side and Fight Back Bay Ridge) are working together to hold the Democrats accountable in the new year. Get involved and #dothework with us.
INBK is proud to endorse Jumaane Williams for Public Advocate. He is both an activist and an accomplished legislator with a strong progressive record throughout his tenure as a city council member, and was ranked as one of New York City’s top five city council members by City and State. He is a longtime proponent of social and criminal justice reforms, affordable housing, equity for public education, women’s reproductive rights, and protecting immigrants, all values we hold dear. We know that he will fight for all New Yorkers if he is elected and we look forward to seeing what he can achieve in this new role!
why we call
Need a reminder about “Why We Call?” Check out our film that explains why every constituent can and should call their elected officials - whether they are represented by Democrats OR Republicans
why we canvass
We are so proud of all of our members and fellow activists who followed Ocasio-Cortez’s advice in this video to knock on doors, phone and textbank, postcard and do the work to make the Blue Wave a reality on November 6th. Use that momentum to join us for what comes next: holding our elected accountable!
Senator Schumer cancelled his town hall at the last minute but Indivisibles came anyway and took questions in the sweltering hear of the un-air conditioned sanctuary. The press joined us, with excellent coverage:
