Channel the energy and activism of the Women's March into tangible strategies and concrete wins in 2018. And it all starts with our next GOBK meeting, this Tuesday, January 30th from 6:30-9PM
We’re lucky to be opening the evening with Linda Sarsour, civil rights activist and a National Co-Chair of the Women’s March, whose powerful leadership and fearless advocacy have been emblematic of the resistance. No doubt, Linda will be able to fire us up and give us the vision we need to end the Trump regime.
You’ll also be able to hear from Liuba Grechen Shirley. She’s a mother, community organizer, business and non-profit leader, and running in Congressional District 2 against Republican incumbent Peter King, and Zellnor Myrie, a Brooklyn lawyer, community activist, and an outspoken critic of the Independent Democratic Conference (IDC), running in State District 20 against incumbent IDC member Jesse Hamilton.
These three leaders will help us build a framework to take back the government from the GOP and our own State leadership away from the IDC, Plus, #GOBK’s Civic Activism working groups (who have been doing electoral work for the past year) will talk about what they’ve learned -- and what they are doing in the year ahead. So be sure to mark your calendars for the first #GetOrganizedBK meeting of 2018.
